Excellent food! We had breakfast. Their menu was not the usual breakfast fare. I had "the Hunter Gatherer", which had kielbasa type sausage, egg and other ingredients on an everything bagel. My hubby had the "Iowa", which was bacon ham, egg and other ingredients on a bagel. My daughter had a gyro bagel breakfast. My son had the garden omelet. To top it all off we had some banana nut fritters. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our waitress was very attentive, as was the rest of the staff. I would definitely eat there again!

The Best dining in Mason City! Enjoyed Sat night dinner and Sunday breakfast while a patron of the hotel. Great service! Loved the décor and atmosphere - arts & crafts styling in a modern setting - large tables - love that. Had the most succulent salmon filet atop an oh-so-tasty risotto with spinach and tomato. The passion fruit crème brulee was creamy and fruity. My accompanying salad was large and fresh. The next morning we shared the banana fritters - MMm, but slightly greasy. THen I had the gryo skillet over hash browns. The skillet dish really needed more feta cheese and a bit more meat. Plus when I asked for jam for the toast I received those tiny little Kraft packs that were quite stale - the jelly was hard and would not spread. So the lack of 5 stars was because of the little details (hard jelly, greasy fritters) at breakfast and it is pricey for Mason City.

Excellent food, amazing atmosphere, and attentive staff. Certainly worth a try, especially if you're from out of town and want to eat somewhere memorable.

Adding to the list of things we didn't think we'd find in northern Iowa - a lovely restored hotel with an attached restaurant that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (who shall be referred to as FLW from henceforth). We came over yonder after trying to find a time for a few months. Plenty of upscale price places in town, but this one provided the only chance for such a dinner in THE LAST FLW HOTEL IN THE COUNTRY! Upon entering the hotel, you're greeted by unique FLW style architecture that elicits at least two feelings 1) This is kinda cool and different, and 2) I feel like I'm on a boat because the ceiling is so low. The entrance to the restaurant is off the lobby, so it's nice to say you were in the hotel. The restaurant itself is very nice. Continuation of the FLW style, but not claustrophobic - a nice touch. The place seat around 40, so it's worth calling ahead. We sat at the "chef's table" - read the bar next to the grills. Nice to have a chance to talk with the chefs, but not much for ambiance and it makes talking with more than one other person hard. Good once, but we wouldn't do it again. The beer and wine lists are impressive, boasting no less than 20 harder to come by exotic beers that range from $6-25 per bottle. The wine list is equally impressive - large enough to find something you haven't tried, but not so large that you can't make up your mind. The cocktails were good as well - I had a Smokey Manhattan - excellent and worth trying. The food here was excellent, and gets a five star bump because of where the place is - it just adds something to the ambiance that's intangible. They serve primarily American favorites - steaks, risotto, fish, chicken etc. We had the meat and cheese tray to start. Prairie breeze is an amazing cheese and went well with the salami and nuts. They serve warm naan with olive oil as the bread - LOVE IT! For the main, my better half had the snapper over cous-cous. It was excellent with just enough kick. I had the mushroom risotto with chicken and it too was excellent - good earth flavor from the mushrooms and really creamy. Ample portions with plenty to share. For dessert, get the crème brulee - the flavors rotate and it was the first time we've had a strawberry crème brulee. Great texture and flavor, served with mascarpone and sliced strawberries, it was a good ending! Overall, this was a great place to dine and somewhere that anyone up this direction should check out. It'll set you back around $80 for a meal w/ drinks and dessert, and is worth every penny for the experience and the story!

When you find yourself staying at the only remaining Frank Lloyd Wright hotel in the country why look anywhere else for dinner when there is a beautiful and intimate eatery located in the first floor of your hotel complete with dishes like chicken with sweet potato risotto and asparagus and an impressive craft cocktail menu and wooden bar that would leave you wanting to hang out for hours? We weaseled our way in as the last table of the night at around 9/9:30 p.m. after a long day in neighboring Clear Lake. The service was very attentive and didn't rush us despite our late arrival. Dinner meals will run you between $20 and $25 without drinks. Whether you're staying at the hotel or not, I highly recommend checking out 1910 Grille for a romantic evening in Mason City on the square.

First time in years that I've closed my eyes and simply savored flavored of an entree. The salmon was exquisite and perfectly grilled (reportedly flown in fresh? Never frozen). Risotto had delicate but lively lemon tinge that was delightful. So decided to try the crime brûlée, which always confirms or denies my overall opinion: it was good, but unexpectedly cold - pre-prepared. Nonetheless worth the extra calories!

Came here to stay at the Historic Park Inn and was amazed at the dinner quality. The Salmon Risotto was very good and would have again and again. The Chicken Marsala was also tops! The kicker that puts this place over the top is the beer selection. As craft beer snob, the selection was great. Before or after dinner go downstairs for an even better drink selection at the downstairs lounge.

Wonderful time, food and service. Decor was very relaxing and elegant. I would definitely advise anyone who wants fine dinning to stop bye and check it out. I travel all over and must say this is now one of my favorites. A diamond in the rough

Why don't I give it five stars? I don't know. I guess I will. It's my favorite place in town to eat.

Foodie-approved! My boyfriend and I came for a dinner date the day after Valentine's Day. Classy Art Deco style. Low lighting. Smooth jazz. Courteous service. They even seated us late into the evening, confirmed by a call an hour prior. For an appetizer, we shared calamari. The dipping sauces were great. It was served with a mini spring greens and vinaigrette salad - also tasty. For dinner, I had the lobster tail risotto. Delicious! My BF had the Chicken Marsala (per the other review suggestions), and it was indeed wonderful! We shared molten chocolate cake to finish the meal. It was a nice sweet note to end on, but nothing special. This is the only item I would not order again. The restaurant is part of a historic hotel, situated by a nice park. There's a small bar with a billiard table downstairs. If you're looking for a classy vibe and impressive flavors in Mason City, be sure to visit!

So I've been in Mason City for the better part of a week now and I've hit all of the 'must go' restaurants that have been recommended to me. I am happy that I saved this one for last! My dad taught me early, always order the special and I'm glad I did. This time it was red deer sausage and spaetzel! Super delicious. The bar downstairs was equally impressive! This is easily the best restaurant in my limited Mason City experience! Thanks Shelley and Westin!

Excellent food and service. It's a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. The ambience is great and it is attached to the historic Frank Lloyd Wright hotel so after you are done eating you can check out the hotel which has a lot of cool nooks and crannies to discover.
